Disaster Response NGOs
ZDR3 welcomes collaboration with other NGOs that share the goal of improving safety, welfare, and preparedness for animals and people affected by disasters. Our work complements existing animal rescue efforts by offering specialized expertise for non‑domestic species and zoological facilities—filling a critical gap in the emergency response landscape.
Working Together for Broader Impact
Several excellent nonprofit and governmental organizations provide disaster response for domestic animals, such as companion pets and livestock. ZDR3 at times serves as a resource to these partners and agencies when they encounter exotic or wild animals during field operations or require related subject‑matter expertise.
In turn, ZDR3 periodically receives calls about domestic or livestock animals that fall outside our scope of work. When this occurs, we redirect those inquiries to appropriate organizations, ensuring every animal receives care from the most capable responders.
Shared Mission, Shared Learning
ZDR3 values our collaboration with disaster response-focused NGOs because we share similar missions, responsibilities, and deployment environments. We often respond to the same large‑scale disasters—each with its own strengths and perspectives. These partnerships allow us to learn from one another, avoid duplication of effort, and provide more integrated support to affected communities.
