Rapid Response teams provide immediate assessment, coordination, and operational support during the earliest stages of an incident. Their purpose is to help an impacted facility identify urgent needs, establish response priorities, address immediate safety concerns, and prepare for additional support.
These teams are designed to reach locations within a predetermined radius approximately 36 to 48 hours after the initial call for assistance.
Rapid Response at a Glance
Capability type: Response phase
Possible team size: 2 or more responders
Primary focus: Immediate assessment, stabilization, coordination, and early operational support
Rapid Response is distinct from long-term recovery. It focuses on what the facility needs first and what must happen next.
